Jazan Rolls Out Back-to-School Support Initiatives

Jazan launched a set of community and field initiatives ahead of the 1448 (2026–27) academic year, aiming to support students and families and create a welcoming environment as classes begin. The efforts brought together the municipality, the education directorate, and the health cluster.

Jazan Municipality distributed more than 50,000 gift packages to school students and installed over 500 “Welcome back” signs across the city. Streets and public squares were dressed with the official back-to-school visual identity carrying the slogan “We Write a Story,” alongside promotional banners and displays.

To ease the daily rush, the municipality prepared a traffic management plan around 257 schools, coordinating flow during student drop-off and pick-up times. Intensive cleaning and sanitation operations were carried out in and around about 1,360 schools to provide a clean and healthy environment for students, teachers, and staff.

The General Directorate of Education in Jazan completed its preparations for 2,618 schools set to receive nearly 364,000 students, supported by more than 30,000 teachers, while 18,000 kindergarten children were admitted to early education. Schools are running welcome initiatives, orientation programs, and an introductory week, with an emphasis on family and community involvement.

Health and community focus

The Jazan Health Cluster launched a “Learn with Health” campaign offering mental and physical awareness tips to help students prepare for the year with a positive start. Media and awareness programs are also targeting the wider community, educational staff, and students to strengthen readiness from the first day.

These local efforts sit within a national framework, as more than 4.5 million students return to schools across Saudi Arabia, backed by a nationwide back-to-school campaign focused on first-day readiness, family–school partnership, and upgraded digital systems and curricula.
