Jeddah's "Darbak Wardi" Breast Cancer Campaign Begins

Jeddah is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a city-wide campaign titled "Darbak Wardi" ("Your Path Is Pink"), running throughout October 2026. The initiative is supervised by the western branch of the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), with wide participation from the health system, and weaves awareness activities into shopping centers, cafés, schools, hotels, and running clubs across the city.

Several venues are hosting dedicated events. U Walk Jeddah's Sale Corner holds a lifestyle exhibition from 21 to 24 October 2026, while Hotel Galleria Jeddah, Curio Collection by Hilton, stages a Pink October awareness event on 22 October 2026. Runners can take part in the Masafat Pink Run at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on 24 October 2026, which features 3 km and 10 km routes alongside children's and family categories.

Healthcare facilities are also central to the campaign. King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah is running awareness booths covering prevention, early screening, mammography, nutrition, social services, surgery, and mental health, with the program continuing through December 2026. King Abdulaziz Hospital held public awareness activities at Prince Majid Park focused on early detection, prevention, risk factors, and regular screening, and the International Medical Center organized three days of interactive activities where specialists answered questions and distributed educational materials.

The campaign underlines a clear community message: early detection and regular screening save lives. By bringing awareness into everyday places where residents already shop, dine, study, and exercise, organizers aim to make health information accessible to families across Jeddah throughout the month and beyond.
