A new creative destination has expanded the JAX cultural district in the industrial zone of Ad-Diriyah on the outskirts of Riyadh. Called Lift, the venue is a hybrid space combining exhibitions, co-working areas, and concept retail, all aimed at supporting the creative industries.
Lift occupies a 6,500 square-foot former industrial warehouse that has been reimagined with flexible, multi-use spaces and movable walls. This design allows it to shift between hosting exhibitions, studios, workshops, and shared workspaces for fields such as visual arts, design, film, photography, and fashion.
The project was first launched in 2020 in central Riyadh, then completed its relocation to the JAX district by late 2024. It is set to be fully open to the public by 2026, operating across three arms known as Lift Gallery, Lift Studio, and Lift Space, offering exhibition programming, workshops, studios, and co-working memberships.
Part of a growing cultural district
JAX itself is an industrial estate of more than 100 warehouses that has been regenerated into a year-round hub for arts and culture. The district hosts exhibition spaces, artist studios, galleries, media hubs, and creative platforms, with Lift among its newest additions.
The wider JAX district is open 24/7 with no general entry ticket, making it easy for residents and visitors to explore. However, individual venues and art spaces, including Lift, keep their own operating hours and may apply ticketing for specific exhibitions, programs, or events.
For the community in Riyadh, the arrival of Lift adds another flexible platform where local creatives can work, exhibit, and collaborate. As of now, exact membership prices, desk rental rates, and specific booking steps for Lift in JAX have not been published, so those interested are advised to check the venue's own channels for the latest details.
