Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 771 chemical clearance requests during July 2026, supporting the flow of raw materials to industrial operations across the Kingdom. The requests covered a total of 2,260 items.
Of the total, 722 requests were for non-restricted chemical imports, while 49 were applications for restricted chemical import permits. All requests are handled digitally through the Sanaei platform and the ministry's chemical clearance services.
How the service works
For unrestricted chemical imports, an applicant logs in to Sanaei, completes the service form, and submits the application. For restricted chemical imports, the applicant registers on the platform, fills out the form, and attaches the technical safety bulletin, the warehouse license, pledged forms, and other supporting documents.
The service is linked to the industrial facility's valid industrial license and valid commercial register, along with updated facility contact data. For unrestricted requests, the applicant must confirm that the materials are not classified as restricted.
Key requirements
A clearance request for an imported shipment must be submitted at least 10 working days before the shipment's arrival. The clearance permit is valid for one year, while the safety brochure or safety data sheet must not exceed three years of validity and must be updated whenever the chemical changes.
The volume of processed requests reflects steady demand from manufacturers who rely on timely access to chemical inputs. For factories and importers operating in the Kingdom, using the digital clearance channel helps keep supply chains moving and reduces delays at ports, an important factor for the industrial sector serving both local production and export markets.
