Saudi Arabia issued 438 new industrial licenses during July 2026, representing investments of around SAR 4.82 billion (about $1.28 billion),
The newly licensed projects are expected to create more than 3,708 jobs across the Kingdom, supporting ongoing efforts to broaden the industrial base and expand local manufacturing capacity.
Alongside the new licenses, a total of 189 factories began actual production during the same month. These facilities represented investments of approximately SAR 1.95 billion and generated 2,807 jobs, reflecting a steady pipeline that is moving from paperwork to operational plants.
Why it matters
For residents and the wider business community, the figures point to continued momentum in Saudi Arabia's industrial sector, a key pillar of economic diversification. More factories entering production means additional employment opportunities and stronger demand for suppliers, logistics, and related services.
The combination of new licenses and newly operational factories signals that industrial activity is not only being planned but also delivered, which can translate into tangible job creation and local economic growth in the months ahead.
