Najla Al-Tuwaijri Named Princess Nourah University President

Najla Al-Tuwaijri has been appointed president of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, following royal approval issued in July 2026. The appointment places her at the helm of one of the Kingdom's largest universities dedicated to women's education.

Al-Tuwaijri brings extensive experience within the institution. She served as vice president from August 2025 to July 2026 before assuming the presidency. Earlier in her career, she held leadership roles as dean of the College of Pharmacy and chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the university.

Her academic credentials include a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis from the University of Strathclyde, along with a BSc in Pharmacy from King Saud University.

The appointment reflects the continued advancement of Saudi women into senior leadership positions across the education sector. Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University plays a central role in preparing female graduates for the national workforce, and its leadership shapes academic programs, research priorities, and student services for tens of thousands of students in the capital.
