New Digital Services Launched for Prophet's Mosque

Visitors to the Prophet's Mosque can now plan their trips more easily thanks to a new digital services platform launched on the website of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque. The platform helps worshippers organise their visit both before arrival and during their time inside the mosque.

The platform brings together several tools in one place, including an interactive map, live crowd status for the route to offer salutations to Prophet Muhammad, and real-time occupancy updates for prayer areas. It also features a visits portal, the Manarat Al-Haramain service, a worshipper's guide, and a children's hospitality centre.

Alongside the platform, a separate digital guidance rollout has added interactive guidance screens across the Prophet's Mosque. These screens allow visitors to download materials through QR codes in 23 languages, making the site more accessible to worshippers from around the world.

In January 2026, a smart engineering command and control centre was inaugurated at the mosque. The centre monitors services and operational performance through interactive screens linked to digital operational data, supporting smoother crowd management and day-to-day operations.

Why it matters

Millions of worshippers visit the Prophet's Mosque each year, and long waits and crowding can make visits challenging. By offering live crowd and prayer-area information along with multilingual guidance, the new tools aim to make each visit calmer and better organised. The services are available through the General Authority's official digital platform, and no fees or paid booking charges have been announced for them.
