A new agreement signed in 2026 between the Saudi Sports for All Federation and King Abdulaziz University aims to expand community sports and physical-activity programs for university students across the Kingdom. The move is part of a wider effort to encourage active lifestyles on campus.
Under the agreement, planned activities include campus sports programs, running events, motivational programs, and greater access to university sports facilities. The goal is to make regular physical activity a normal part of student life.
Saudi universities may also organize open sports days, giving students the chance to take part in activities such as futsal, fitness sessions, and esports. These events are designed to be inclusive and to appeal to a broad range of interests.
Why it matters
The initiative supports healthy lifestyles and aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which places strong emphasis on wellbeing and community participation in sport. Beyond universities, the Ministry of Education has equipped more than 200 sports halls at government girls' schools and plans to add further facilities in the future.
For students, residents, and families, the programs reflect a growing focus on accessible sport and physical activity at all levels of education. Participation programs are intended to help build long-term healthy habits among young people across Saudi Arabia.
