New investment structures have been confirmed for four of Saudi Arabia's biggest football clubs — Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, Al-Nassr, and Al-Hilal — marking the latest phase in the shift toward professional, investment-backed ownership across the Kingdom's top tier.

Back in 2023, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) acquired 75% of each of the four clubs' companies, while each club's nonprofit foundation retained the remaining 25%. In August 2026, the Ministry of Sport began transferring those 25% foundation stakes to PIF and dissolving the foundations' boards, subject to the completion of statutory procedures.

As a result, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, and Al-Nassr are moving toward full 100% ownership by PIF once the share transfers are finalized.

Al-Hilal takes a different path

Al-Hilal's structure has evolved separately. In April 2026, PIF agreed to sell 70% of the club to Kingdom Holding Company for SAR 840 million, based on an enterprise valuation of SAR 1.4 billion. Following that transaction, PIF's retained stake in Al-Hilal was reported at 30%, with the final structure also depending on completion of the nonprofit-foundation share transfer.

For fans and the wider community, these changes signal continued investment and long-term stability for clubs that draw huge followings in Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond. Clearer ownership structures are intended to support stronger governance, commercial growth, and competitiveness both at home and in regional and international competitions.

The announcements relate solely to corporate ownership; they involve no public fees, application steps, or government e-service procedures.
