Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States, has joined the All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN) as an adviser, in a move announced in October 2026 aimed at expanding the reach of women’s sports across the Middle East.
In her advisory role, Princess Reema will support efforts to broaden coverage and raise the international profile of women’s sports in the region. The appointment reflects the growing momentum behind women’s athletics in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf.
The network currently broadcasts Saudi Arabia’s Women’s Premier League, giving audiences at home and abroad greater access to local women’s football. The expanded coverage is expected to help players gain visibility and attract new fans to the sport.
Looking ahead, the network plans to stage its first Middle East sports festival in Saudi Arabia during the first quarter of 2027. The event is set to showcase women’s sports and bring together athletes and fans from across the region.
For residents and families in Saudi Arabia, the development adds to a growing calendar of sporting opportunities and reflects the expanding role of women in the Kingdom’s sports scene.
