Riyadh Bus Adds New Routes to More Districts

Riyadh's public-transport network has grown with new bus routes designed to improve access to key residential and commercial districts across the capital, giving residents and expats more options to move around the city.

The latest phase brought the Riyadh Bus network to 40 routes, 614 buses, and 1,632 stops. Newly served areas include AlRabea, AlNuzha, AlTaawoun, Gulf, AlRawda, AlAndalus, AlNahda, AlShuhada, AlMunsiah, and AlYarmouk.

Fares and discounts

A single ride costs SAR 4 and is valid for 120 minutes from first check-in, with free transfers during that window. The ticket is a time-based pass rather than a distance-based fare, and the same fare applies to both the buses and قطار الرياض within the validity period.

Children under 6 years old ride free, while a 50% discount applies to eligible groups including seniors, students, cancer patients, and families of martyrs.

How to pay

Tickets are available through the Darb card and app, at station vending machines, and by on-board payment using a credit card or mobile device.

The expansion supports easier daily commuting for residents and connects more neighbourhoods to the wider transport system, reflecting the ongoing rollout of integrated public transport in the capital.
