The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has launched the fourth phase of its Main and Ring Road Axes Development Program, a SAR 9.8 billion project that adds 40 kilometres of upgraded roads across the capital and is designed to serve about 950,000 vehicles
Phase Four covers four major corridors. Sheikh Jaber Al Sabah Road (southern section) spans about 12 km with six main intersections, 22 bridges and three tunnels, with a capacity of roughly 350,000 vehicles daily. Prince Turki bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road (central section) runs about 9 km with three intersections, six bridges and two tunnels. Prince Mishal bin Abdulaziz Road covers about 6 km, while Najm Ad-Din Al-Ayyubi Road (western section) extends about 13 km — each designed for around 200,000 vehicles
In total, the new phase delivers 14 major interchanges, 33 bridges, 5 tunnels and 6 pedestrian bridges, with combined capacity exceeding 950,000 vehicles daily.
Why it matters
The Road Axes Program spans more than 500 km of road network across Riyadh, combining new roads with upgrades to existing corridors. Between 2019 and 2025, the first three phases represented about SAR 29 billion of investment across 18 projects, with the first group of four projects worth SAR 13 billion launched in August 2024.
For residents and commuters, the added corridors, interchanges and tunnels aim to ease congestion and shorten travel times as the capital continues to grow. There has been no official announcement of project-specific toll fees for these four corridors. Motorists can find verified updates through RCRC's official website and social media accounts, or by contacting the unified call center on 19998.
