The King has issued a set of royal decrees introducing changes to several senior government posts, including the appointment of Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, in addition to his current role as Minister of Energy, which he retains.
Under the decrees, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef was relieved of his position as Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and appointed Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers. He was also assigned to oversee the General Authority for Military Industries as part of his new responsibilities.
The decrees also included the dismissal of Ahmed Al-Ohali from his role as Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries. In addition, Shalaan bin Shalaan was relieved of his duties as Deputy Public Prosecutor and appointed Advisor at the Royal Court with the rank of minister, while Ihsan bin Abbas Bafaqih was appointed Secretary of Jeddah Governorate with the rank of minister.
Why it matters
These decisions are internal state appointments executed at the government level through the relevant ministries and authorities. They do not require any action, fees, or online steps from citizens or residents, and are not linked to any citizen-facing platforms such as أبشر, مقيم, قوى, ناجز, نفاذ, or توكلنا.
For the community, the reshuffle reflects continued adjustments across the industry, energy, and public prosecution sectors, with the industry and mineral resources portfolio now placed under the same leadership overseeing the energy sector.
