King Salman issued a royal order on 11 July 2026 appointing Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman as minister of industry and mineral resources, while he retains his position as minister of energy.
The same royal order relieved Bandar Al-Khorayef of the industry and mineral resources portfolio and moved him to another government role.
The decision places both the energy and industry portfolios under Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, linking two sectors that play a central part in the Kingdom's economic and development plans.
For residents and businesses, the appointment signals continuity at the top of two key ministries that oversee major national programs, from mining and mineral resources to the broader energy sector. Both fields are closely tied to job creation, local investment, and the country's long-term diversification goals under Saudi Vision 2030.
The move is a ministerial appointment and does not involve any public service, fee, or application process for residents.
