Saudi Arabia has appointed Fahad bin Abduljalil Al‑Saif as Minister of Investment under a royal decree issued on 12 February 2026, marking a change in leadership at the ministry responsible for the Kingdom's investment agenda.
The same royal orders relieved Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al‑Falih of his role as Minister of Investment, a post he had held since 25 February 2020. Al‑Falih was appointed Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers.
As of August 2026, Fahad Al‑Saif is the current Minister of Investment, while Khalid Al‑Falih continues to serve as Minister of State and a member of the Council of Ministers.
Cabinet appointments of this kind are made by royal decree and take effect from the date of issuance. Officials serve at the King's discretion, and no fixed term is announced with such orders.
What it means for residents
The decree concerns internal government positions only. There are no fees, application steps, or citizen and resident procedures attached to the appointment, and no digital service actions are required through any government platform.
The Ministry of Investment leads efforts to attract and support local and foreign investment across the Kingdom, a central pillar of the national economic diversification drive. Leadership at the ministry remains a point of interest for the business community, investors, and companies operating in Saudi Arabia.
