Saudi Arabia has appointed Fahad bin Abduljalil Al-Saif as Minister of Investment by royal decree issued on 12 February 2026, placing an experienced financial executive at the head of the وزارة الاستثمار.
Al-Saif succeeds Khalid Al-Falih, who was relieved of his duties as Minister of Investment and appointed Minister of State and member of the Council of Ministers under the same set of royal orders.
Before this appointment, Al-Saif held senior positions at the Public Investment Fund (PIF), where he led work on Investment Strategy and Economic Insights as well as Global Capital Finance. That background places him at the center of the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to attract foreign capital and expand the private sector.
The move formed part of a broader cabinet and leadership reshuffle that touched ministerial, judicial, administrative and advisory posts, along with positions across emirates and governorates. The changes are aimed at strengthening economic diversification and foreign investment under رؤية السعودية 2030.
Why it matters
The وزارة الاستثمار plays a central role in licensing, regulating and encouraging both local and foreign investment across the Kingdom. For businesses and investors in الرياض, جدة and beyond, stable leadership at the ministry signals continuity in the drive to open new sectors and simplify entry for international companies. Al-Saif is the incumbent Minister of Investment, serving continuously since 12 February 2026.
