Saudi National Bank has appointed Fawaz bin Abdullah Al-Thumairi as its Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective 3 September 2026. The move is part of a broader senior management reshuffle at the bank.
Al-Thumairi is a familiar figure within the bank, having held several senior leadership positions over the years. These include Head of Trading, Head of Strategic Investments, Head of Cash Management and Global Transaction Banking, and Head of the Treasury Group.
He currently serves as Treasury Group Head at the bank and as Chairman of the Board of Türkiye Finans Participation Bank, while also sitting on the bank's Executive Management Committee and Asset-Liability Committee. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Why it matters
As one of the Kingdom's largest banks, changes at the top of Saudi National Bank draw close attention from the business and financial community. Leadership continuity and internal promotions are often viewed as signals of stability within the sector.
The appointment reflects the bank's ongoing efforts to strengthen its executive team as the Saudi financial sector continues to grow in line with wider economic development in the Kingdom.
