Riyadh International Book Fair 2026 Set for December

The Riyadh International Book Fair 2026 has been announced for 10–19 December 2026 in Riyadh, organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission under the Ministry of Culture. This year's edition names Syria as guest of honor and comes with a notably expanded cultural program running across the ten-day event.

Visitors can expect a fuller schedule than recent editions, including panel discussions and dialogue sessions, training workshops on writing, publishing, translation and digital content, lectures and intellectual seminars, and poetry and literary evenings. The children's pavilion has been expanded with interactive programs and creative workshops aimed at children and young adults.

The fair will again feature the Saudi Author Corner, dedicated to Saudi writers who hold their own publishing and distribution rights, giving local authors a direct platform to reach readers.

How publishers can register

Local and international publishers can apply through the Ministry of Culture's electronic portal on the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission registration page. Participation is entirely online, with no physical submission required. The registration window is open now, with a deadline of 1 October 2026.

As of mid-September 2026, several practical details have not yet been officially confirmed. There is no confirmed venue for the December event, though recent editions have been held at large Riyadh venues, and no daily visitor schedule has been published. Ticket prices, booth rental fees, and whether general entry will be free or ticketed have not been announced.

For Riyadh's residents, families and the wider reading community, the book fair remains one of the city's major cultural gatherings each year. We will share confirmed venue, timing and entry details for the 2026 edition as they become official.
