Riyadh to Host Region's First Robot Kickboxing Event

The Middle East will witness its first humanoid robot kickboxing event when CyberHero x Riyadh takes place in the Saudi capital on 9 September 2026. Organized by Hero Esports, the event marks the global debut of the CyberHero robotic sports series, blending machine combat with live entertainment.

The bouts are scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM — branded as “9/9 at 9” — and are expected to run for around two hours. While public announcements say doors open at 8:30 PM, the gathering is described as a closed-door event held at a professional combat venue in Riyadh. The exact venue name and district have not yet been announced.

Machines in the ring

The competition features 10 EngineAI T800 humanoid robots, developed by a Shenzhen-based robotics company. Each robot stands about 1.73 metres tall, weighs between 75 and 85 kilograms, and carries 29 articulated joints, allowing it to walk, run, punch, kick, turn, and recover after falling.

The kickboxing-style bouts are designed to test motion control, balance, reaction speed, and combat strategy, staged inside a purpose-built arena. The show also weaves in dynamic music and lighting, with rising international DJ Tokyo Machine set to perform a live set during the event.

For the community, the event offers a rare early look at how humanoid robotics is moving from laboratories into live entertainment, adding a new dimension to the capital’s growing calendar of tech and sporting spectacles. As of early September 2026, no official details on ticket prices in ريال سعودي, categories, or seating tiers had been released.
