Saudi Arabia has launched a pilot Package Visa scheme in July 2026, allowing tourists to book flights, hotels, and their entry visa together in a single bundled travel package. The initiative aims to simplify the trip-planning process and encourage visitors to stay longer in the Kingdom.
Under the pilot, the electronic tourist visa issued within a package is valid for three months from the travel start date. It is a single-entry visa that permits a stay of at least two days and up to 88 days within the package period. This differs from the standard tourist eVisa, which remains available with one-year validity, multiple entries, and a maximum of 90 days
Prices and how it works
The visa component in the pilot costs about SAR 402.21, covering issuance and travel insurance, and it is bundled into the overall package price rather than charged separately to the traveler. The minimum package value starts at SAR 4,000 for the first two days with SAR 1,000 for each additional day
For travelers booking outside a package, the standalone online eVisa costs a total of SAR 535 including government fees, insurance, and the platform fee, while the visa on arrival is SAR 480 including mandatory medical insurance.
Booking and visa issuance for the pilot are handled through approved travel providers and tour operators integrated with the official Saudi visa and tourism system. Travelers choose an approved package, provide their passport and personal details, and pay the full package price. The provider then submits the visa data, and the electronic visa is issued within 48 hours of confirmed purchase.
For residents and expats who often host visiting family or friends, the new option could make short and longer trips easier to arrange. Standard tourist visas continue to be available through the official Saudi visa portal and the Visit Saudi tourism platform.
