Saudi sports authorities and national federations are finalizing preparations for a packed calendar of international championships, boxing events, and esports tournaments set to take place across Riyadh, Jeddah, and Qiddiya in 2026.
Among the biggest fixtures is the Esports World Cup 2026, held in Riyadh from 6 July to 23 August 2026. The tournament is expected to gather around 2,000 players from more than 100 countries, representing some 200 clubs, competing for a prize pool exceeding USD 75 million. Riyadh will also host the Esports Nations Cup 2026, with the Dota 2 competition scheduled for 2–8 November and Honor of Kings for 24–29 November at Boulevard Riyadh City.
Combat sports fans have marquee dates too. The "Mexico Against the World" boxing event, headlined by Saul "Canelo" Álvarez, is scheduled for 12 September 2026 in Riyadh. The capital will also stage the multi-sport Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games 2026 from 13 to 21 December.
Venues and ticketing
International boxing and wrestling cards are being hosted at leading Riyadh venues including Kingdom Arena, anb Arena, Global Theatre, and Mohammed Abdo Arena. For large international cards at Kingdom Arena, ticket prices typically range from around SAR 100 to SAR 1,500 depending on the event and seating tier. Boulevard Riyadh City remains a central hub for the year's esports activity.
A new Sports Law came into force on 11 June 2026. Under it, managing and operating sports competitions and events requires a licence from the Ministry of Sport. Government bodies need Ministry of Sport approval to hold sports events, while non-government entities must obtain the relevant Ministry authorization. For residents and visitors, the busy 2026 line-up means more world-class entertainment options close to home across the Kingdom's major cities.
