Saudi Arabia to Send 144 Athletes to Aichi-Nagoya 2026

Saudi Arabia will field a delegation of 144 athletes across 19 national teams at the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, taking place in Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October 2026.

The Saudi teams will compete in 19 sports, including athletics, 5x5 basketball, boxing, equestrian, esports, fencing, football, jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, mixed martial arts, padel, shooting, squash, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling.

As part of its preparations, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee will hold a training camp in Fuji, Japan, from 29 August to 3 October 2026, giving the teams time to acclimatize ahead of and during the competition.

Among the notable inclusions is padel, confirmed as an official medal sport at Aichi-Nagoya 2026, and one of the disciplines in which the Kingdom will take part. The event marks another milestone in Saudi Arabia's growing footprint in continental and international sport, with results still to be determined once the Games get underway.

For the Saudi community, both residents and expats, the wide-ranging delegation reflects the Kingdom's continued investment in athletics and its ambition to compete at the highest levels across a broad set of disciplines.
