Saudi Para Table-Tennis Team Trains in Nagoya

The Saudi national para table-tennis team held its first training session in Nagoya, Japan, on 13 October 2026, as part of preparations for the fifth Asian Para Games, which take place from 18 to 24 October 2026.

The session brought together the team's participating athletes: Maryam Almyrisl, Zahra Al Tala, Rakan Alsalmi, and Ibrahim Hassan. The early arrival in Japan is intended to help the players adapt to local conditions and fine-tune their form ahead of the competition.

The table-tennis squad is part of a wider Saudi para delegation taking part in the Games, which includes 41 male and female athletes competing across eight sports.

The participation reflects the growing attention given to para sports in the Kingdom and the opportunities provided for athletes with disabilities to represent Saudi Arabia on major international stages. For the local community, the presence of Saudi competitors at a continental event of this scale offers a source of pride and encouragement for aspiring athletes across the country.
