Saudi Arabia is set to compete at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, with a delegation of 144 athletes representing 19 national teams. The Games will run from 19 September to 4 October 2026.
The Saudi contingent will take part in a broad range of disciplines, including athletics, 5x5 basketball, boxing, equestrian, esports, fencing, football, jiu-jitsu, judo, karate, mixed martial arts, padel, shooting, squash, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, weightlifting, and wrestling.
To ensure the teams arrive in peak condition, a preparatory camp has been scheduled in Fuji, Japan, from 29 August to 3 October 2026, giving athletes time to acclimatize and complete their final preparations ahead of competition.
A Milestone Appearance
This edition marks Saudi Arabia's 12th participation in the Asian Games, underscoring the growing breadth of the Kingdom's competitive sports program and its investment in athlete development across both traditional and emerging disciplines such as esports and padel.
For residents and expats following Saudi sport, the wide spread of 19 disciplines reflects the diversity of talent now reaching the continental stage. The event offers fans at home a chance to rally behind national teams across both well-established Olympic sports and newer competitive arenas.
