Saudi Business Confidence Rises to 56.7 in August

Business confidence in Saudi Arabia continued to strengthen in August 2026, with the Kingdom's Business Confidence Index climbing to 56.7 points, up from 56.5 points recorded in July. The reading remained comfortably above the 50-point neutral level, pointing to ongoing optimism across the business community.

The index measures how positive companies feel about current and future conditions. Any reading above 50 signals expansion and confidence, while a figure below that threshold would indicate caution or contraction. August's result marked a modest but steady improvement.

Sector performance was mixed. Industry confidence rose to 55.8 points from 54.7 points, while the services sector advanced to 56.1 points from 55.3 points. Construction, however, eased slightly to 57.3 points from 57.7 points, though it continued to lead the three sectors overall.

The most recent available figure, for September 2026, came in at 56.6 points, holding close to August's level and keeping the index firmly in positive territory.

Why it matters

For residents, expats, and business owners across the Kingdom, sustained business optimism often translates into job creation, new projects, and a healthier environment for small and medium enterprises. Rising confidence in industry and services in particular reflects broader economic momentum, while the resilient construction figure underscores continued activity in the sector. Steady readings above 50 suggest companies remain positive about the months ahead.
