Shrimp Season Opens in Jazan Fish Markets

Shrimp season has officially opened in the fish markets of Jazan, with fishing beginning on 1 September 2026 and continuing through the end of March 2027 in the Red Sea waters off the region.

The season marks one of the busiest periods of the year for local markets, as fresh catches of Red Sea shrimp arrive daily and draw both residents and visitors looking to stock up on the popular seafood.

For the Jazan community, the season is a familiar seasonal milestone that supports local fishermen and keeps the region's fish markets active for several months. Shrimp from the area's Red Sea waters is a staple in local kitchens and a highlight for seafood lovers across the Kingdom.

Shoppers planning a visit should note that market availability typically follows the daily catch, so timing a trip earlier in the day can offer a wider selection. Prices and any specific purchase procedures can vary between vendors and are not centrally published, so buyers are advised to check directly with the markets.
