Al Ahli Open 2026/27 Season With 1–0 Win

Al Ahli launched their 2026/27 Saudi Pro League campaign with a 1–0 away victory over Diriyah Club on Thursday, 13 August 2026, at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh. Eduard Spertsyan scored the decisive goal to hand the club a winning start to the new season.

The result marked the first competitive match of a new chapter for Al Ahli under head coach Marino Pušić, who was confirmed in the role after Matthias Jaissle resigned in early August 2026. Jaissle's departure was linked to taking up a coaching position in England, with Pušić appointed as his replacement shortly afterwards.

The 2026/27 Saudi Pro League season runs from 13 August 2026 to 29 May 2027, and Al Ahli's opening-day win sets a positive tone as they begin life under new leadership.

Why it matters

The season opener carried added significance as the first outing of the post-Jaissle era, and a clean-sheet away win gives the new coaching setup an encouraging start. For fans across the Kingdom, it signals continuity and ambition as one of Saudi football's biggest clubs opens a long campaign that will stretch into late May.

Al Ahli supporters planning to attend upcoming fixtures should note that Saudi Pro League matches in 2026 use electronic tickets linked to national digital IDs and mobile apps for stadium entry, with prices varying by opponent, venue, and seating category. Tickets are sold through official club and league ticketing channels and designated stadium partners. Exact prices and purchase links for Al Ahli's upcoming matches were not confirmed at the time of reporting.
