Al-Arifi Named Governor of National Development Fund

Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Arifi has been appointed Governor of the National Development Fund with the Excellent Rank, under a royal order issued on 12 February 2026 and published in the official gazette Umm Al-Qura on 13 February 2026.

Al-Arifi assumes leadership of the fund from February 2026, taking responsibility for one of the central bodies within the Kingdom's development-financing framework.

The National Development Fund oversees and coordinates the development funds and banks operating across the country. Its mandate is to align the work of these financing arms and support the delivery of development programs, ensuring that funding channels operate in a coordinated and effective manner.

Why it matters

The National Development Fund plays a key role in directing financing toward priority sectors and national programs. Leadership appointments at this level help maintain the stability and continuity of the institutions responsible for supporting economic and social development across the Kingdom.

For residents, businesses, and communities in Riyadh, Jeddah, and other cities, the fund's coordination of development banks and financing bodies underpins programs that touch housing, small enterprises, industry, and other areas of daily economic life.
