Saudi Fund for Development Signs SAR1.77bn in Loans

The Saudi Fund for Development signed 13 development-loan agreements with 11 developing countries during 2025, with a combined value of about SAR1.77 billion, reflecting the continued expansion of the Kingdom's international development financing.

The agreements, totaling SAR1.76591 billion, supported projects across four regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean. The geographic spread highlights the broad reach of the Fund's work in backing infrastructure and development priorities in partner nations.

During the year, the Fund added three new countries to its financing portfolio: Suriname, the Solomon Islands, and Barbados. The additions mark a widening footprint, particularly in regions that have historically received less development support from the Kingdom.

Why it matters

For residents and the wider community in Saudi Arabia, the activity underlines the Kingdom's ongoing role as a provider of development assistance to developing economies. The financing is directed at projects in partner countries and reflects long-standing cooperation ties that align with Saudi Arabia's global development commitments.

This figure relates solely to international development loans. It does not involve any domestic application step, official channel, fee, or validity period for people inside the Kingdom.
