Dina Mustafa: First Saudi Woman to Win Asian Games Medal

Saudi karateka Dina Mustafa made history on 20 September 2026 by becoming the first Saudi woman to win a medal at the Asian Games, claiming bronze at the 2026 Aichi–Nagoya edition hosted in Japan.

Mustafa secured the medal in the women’s karate kumite over 68 kg category. In her decisive bout, she defeated Nepal’s Arika Gurung 8–7, staging a strong comeback after falling behind 0–3 early in the contest.
