Saudi researcher Dr. Shaza Mohammed Abo'Ouf has been selected as an international triathlon judge for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, set to take place in Japan. She is the only Saudi representative among 24 international judges chosen for the event.
The Saudi Triathlon Federation nominated Dr. Abo'Ouf for the appointment. The triathlon competitions are scheduled for 20 and 21 September 2026 at the Gamagori City Triathlon Venue in Gamagori, Aichi.
Dr. Abo'Ouf is a consultant in therapeutic and sports nutrition, specializing in quality-of-life and holistic-wellness programs. She graduated from the University of Glasgow's College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences.
Why it matters
The selection highlights the growing presence of Saudi professionals in international sporting roles, extending beyond athletes to technical and officiating positions. For the Kingdom's sports community, it reflects a widening path for Saudi expertise on major continental stages and signals increasing opportunities for specialists in sports science and officiating to represent the country abroad.
