Saudi Tourism Launches Ronaldo Global Campaign

The Saudi Tourism Authority has launched a new global campaign titled "I Came for Football, I Stayed for More," featuring football star Cristiano Ronaldo. The campaign promotes the Kingdom as a year-round destination for visitors across major international markets, including Europe, India, and China.

Running under the national tourism brand "Saudi, Welcome to Arabia," the campaign highlights the Kingdom's growing calendar of sports, entertainment, cultural, fashion, and film events. It spotlights experiences and destinations in Riyadh, Jeddah, and AlUla.

The initiative supports Saudi Arabia's stated goal of welcoming 150 million visitors annually by 2030, positioning sport as a gateway to the wider range of attractions and experiences available across the country.

For residents and expats, the message is straightforward: the destinations and events featured in the campaign are already open and part of the local scene. The campaign does not introduce any visitor fee, visa fee, attraction price, or separate registration requirement, and no new procedures through government platforms have been announced.

By pairing one of the world's most recognisable athletes with the country's cultural and entertainment offerings, the campaign aims to encourage international fans who travel for sport to explore more of what the Kingdom has to offer, from live events to heritage destinations.
