Riyadh is emerging as a focal point for global investors interested in artificial intelligence and advanced technology, as a series of major summits scheduled across 2026 place the sector at the centre of Gulf–European economic cooperation.
The second EU–GCC Summit is set to take place on 24 October 2026 in Riyadh. The gathering is expected to focus on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data centres, digital infrastructure, clean energy, advanced industries, logistics, supply chains, and broader trade and investment ties.
Momentum has already been building through earlier events. LEAP 2026, held from 31 August to 3 September 2026 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, announced nearly SAR 56.25 billion in investments, partnerships and agreements, based on a reported value of about US$15 billion. The event covered AI infrastructure, data centres, cloud computing, technology manufacturing and venture capital.
This was followed by the Global AI Summit 2026, held from 15 to 17 September 2026 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, further underscoring the Kingdom's growing role in the global technology conversation.
Why it matters
For residents and businesses across Riyadh, Jeddah and beyond, the concentration of investment and technology summits signals expanding opportunities in high-growth sectors. Increased spending on AI infrastructure, data centres and digital services can translate into new jobs, partnerships and services for the wider community as the Kingdom advances its technology ambitions.
