Saudi Arabia's LEAP technology conference wrapped up its fifth edition in Riyadh with nearly USD 15 billion in announcements, investments, and agreements. The event ran from 31 August to 3 September 2026 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, under the theme "Into New Worlds."
This year's commitments spanned AI infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, technology manufacturing, venture capital, and skills programs. Major government bodies, telecommunications firms, and infrastructure companies signed cooperation agreements and launched digital initiatives during the four-day gathering.
HUMAIN anchored several large-scale AI infrastructure phases, including a 250 MW project with AMD and Cisco starting in 2027, a further planned 250 MW with Together AI, and 100 MW inside DataVolt's campus at Oxagon in NEOM. A separate vehicle managed by BSF Capital is targeting an initial USD 2.5 billion to finance 250 MW being built with Al Moammar Information Systems, which also announced a USD 1.2 billion investment to raise its data center capacity to 192 MW.
Other headline commitments included NHC Innovation's USD 800 million investment in the Khuzam Digital Valley, expandable to 65 MW by 2033; Amazon Web Services' plan to launch its first cloud infrastructure region in the Kingdom in December 2026 as part of an investment exceeding USD 5.3 billion; and Adobe's pledge of more than USD 4 billion in an expanded partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and HUMAIN for creative industries.
Why it matters
The scale of these deals reinforces Saudi Arabia's growing role as a global technology investment hub, with direct implications for local jobs, digital services, and cloud availability across the Kingdom. Organizers confirmed the next LEAP edition is set for April 2027, scheduled for 12–15 April in Riyadh.
