$2.5bn in Data Center, Cloud, AI Deals at LEAP 2026

Technology and telecom companies announced around USD 2.5 billion (about SAR 9.4–9.5 billion) in new data center, cloud, technology localization, and AI infrastructure investments on the second day of the LEAP 2026 event in الرياض on 2 September 2026.

The largest single commitment came from Al Moammar Information Systems (MIS), which announced a USD 1.2 billion (about SAR 4.5 billion) investment to expand its data centers in Saudi Arabia. The company is targeting a total operational capacity of 192 MW for high-performance computing and AI workloads. Its program has grown from five data centers in 2022 to 32 MW of operating capacity today, with 144 MW committed and around SAR 5 billion committed across the platform.

A separate financing vehicle managed by BSF Capital is targeting an initial USD 2.5 billion (about SAR 9.4–9.5 billion) to fund 250 MW of additional data center capacity being built with MIS. Meanwhile, موبايلي and BytePlus announced more than USD 150 million (about SAR 560 million) in joint investment to launch and scale BytePlus cloud services for enterprise customers in the Kingdom.

Why it matters

The announcements point to fast-growing local computing capacity that supports faster, more reliable cloud and AI services for businesses and residents. Additional infrastructure commitments at the event — separate from the Day-2 package — include AWS planning more than USD 5.3 billion (about SAR 19.9 billion) for its first Saudi cloud region in December 2026, Microsoft's Saudi Arabia East region planned for November 2026, and Oracle's USD 1.5 billion (about SAR 5.6 billion) expansion including a new public cloud region in الرياض and added capacity in جدة.

HUMAIN, backed by the Public Investment Fund, is pursuing over 6 GW of AI data center capacity and seeking an initial USD 2.5 billion for sites across the Kingdom, including 100 MW inside DataVolt's campus at Oxagon in نيوم. NHC Innovation also announced a SAR 3.3 billion (about USD 880 million) commitment.
