The National Housing Company (NHC) has announced an investment of about SAR 3.3 billion (roughly USD 880 million) to develop major data centers in Khuzam Digital Valley in northern الرياض. The project was unveiled at LEAP 2026 and will be led by NHC Innovation, a subsidiary of the National Housing Company.
The development spans nearly 200,000 square metres and aims to build carrier-neutral data centers offering cloud services, artificial intelligence, and advanced digital infrastructure. The project targets an IT load capacity of up to 65 MW by 2033, delivered across several phases.
Planned services include hosting and leasing, managed services, cloud computing and IT, power and connectivity, and other value-added offerings. The first anchor customers are BytePlus, the technology arm of ByteDance, and NAVER Innovation, both of which have been allocated initial capacity.
Why it matters
For residents and businesses in الرياض, large-scale data infrastructure supports faster, more reliable digital services and strengthens the Kingdom's growing cloud and AI ecosystem. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology highlighted the project at LEAP 2026 as part of national digital infrastructure and AI strategies.
As of now, only high-level details on investment, capacity targets, and technology partners have been made public. No pricing schedule for tenants or cloud customers, and no detailed procedures for applying for capacity or signing service contracts, have been released.
