Saudi Arabia Gears Up for Big Sports, Culture Events

Saudi Arabia is lining up a busy season of international sports and cultural events across Riyadh and Jeddah, and organizers now work within a clearer set of official rules covering licensing, venues and ticketing. For residents and expats planning to attend, knowing how these events are permitted — and where to buy tickets — helps avoid unofficial sellers.

Under the new Sports Law, issued in December 2025 and in effect from June 2026, staging or commercially operating a sports event by a non-government party requires a license from the Ministry of Sport. Violations can carry administrative fines of up to SAR 5 million. Entertainment events are permitted through the General Entertainment Authority, where the event permit request is listed as free of charge, while site permits are paid separately through the Ministry of Municipalities venue-permit service.

Where to buy tickets

Official tickets for major events are typically sold through WeBook and other dedicated event platforms rather than general government apps. During the Arabian Gulf Cup in the Kingdom, standard seats were listed from SAR 22 on WeBook, rising by seating category, with resale listings starting from SAR 45. King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah was one of the main match venues.

Fan-zone tickets have also been listed for select sites — from €5.78 at Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, and from €43.66 at Kimpton KAFD in Riyadh.

For the announced 2026 autumn sports calendar, official ticket prices had not yet been published at the time of this update. As general guidance, recent large-event tickets in the Kingdom have ranged around SAR 100–300 for standard seats and SAR 800–2,500 for VIP or hospitality — but these are recent ranges only, not fixed prices for the new events. Attendees are advised to buy only through official channels and to check final prices when they are released.
