Sports Ticket Platforms to Be Accredited via Riyadhi

The Ministry of Sport has scheduled accreditation services for sports-ticket sales platforms to begin on 15 November 2026 through the Riyadhi digital platform, introducing a unified framework for how match and event tickets are sold and resold in the Kingdom.

Existing ticket platforms have been granted a 90-day window, counted from 26 October 2026, to update their systems and bring them in line with the new technical and regulatory requirements. Under the rules, ticket sales and resale are limited to organizers and platforms accredited by the Ministry of Sport.

Several measures aim to protect buyers. Tickets must be linked to the identity of the buyer, and purchase limits may apply. Platforms are also required to clearly disclose ticket prices, ticket categories, conditions of use, fees, commissions, cancellation and refund rules, and compensation policies.

What is prohibited

The framework bans hidden fees, misleading pricing, unauthorized resale, automated purchasing programs, and the use of multiple accounts to get around purchase limits. These steps target the resale and bot-driven practices that often push ticket prices higher for genuine fans.

For residents and visitors who regularly attend matches and sporting events in Riyadh, Jeddah, and across the Kingdom, the changes promise clearer pricing and a more transparent buying experience. Fans should expect to use accredited platforms and to have their tickets tied to their personal identity at the point of purchase.
