The Ministry of Sports will launch a new accreditation service for ticket-selling platforms through the Riyadi digital platform on 15 November 2026. The move aims to regulate how tickets for sports events are sold and resold across the Kingdom.
Under the new framework, existing ticketing platforms will have 90 days from 26 October 2026 to update their systems and meet the approved technical and regulatory requirements. Once the rules take effect, ticket sales and resale will be restricted to event organizers and platforms accredited by the Ministry of Sports.
What platforms must disclose
Accredited platforms will be required to clearly disclose ticket prices, ticket categories, terms of use, fees, commissions, cancellation rules, refund policies, and compensation policies. Hidden fees and misleading pricing practices will be prohibited, and any variable pricing must follow regulated mechanisms.
The rules also bar unaccredited websites, platforms, and social-media accounts from selling or reselling tickets. In addition, automated programs and multiple accounts may not be used to bypass purchase limits or affect fair access to tickets.
For residents and fans across Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond, the changes are intended to bring more transparency to event ticketing, curb inflated resale practices, and ensure fairer access to popular matches and tournaments. No official accreditation fee, application procedure, validity period, required documents, or service link has been announced so far.
