Rakan Al-Tauq Serves as Assistant Minister of Culture

Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Tauq holds the post of assistant minister of culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the excellent rank. He was appointed by royal order issued on 5 March 2023 and continues to serve in this role as of 2026.

The appointment was made through a royal order issued by the King and carried out via the Royal Court and Cabinet system. It is a senior executive position within the Ministry of Culture, which is headquartered in Diriyah, Riyadh. As a high-level state appointment, it involves no application fees, no service charges, and no online portal steps for citizens or residents — it is strictly an internal government personnel decision.

The royal order specifies the office and rank only, without setting a fixed public term. The appointment remains in force until replaced by a subsequent royal order. No changes have been published during 2025–2026 that alter his title, rank, or ministry affiliation.

Al-Tauq has been publicly identified as assistant minister of culture in a range of official and international engagements. These include representing Saudi Arabia at G20 cultural ministers' meetings and Islamic world culture conferences, holding meetings with foreign ambassadors and international organizations at the ministry's Diriyah headquarters, and taking keynote roles at major cultural events and museum-sector conferences and summits in 2025 and 2026.

For the community, the role reflects the ongoing leadership behind the Kingdom's cultural sector, which oversees heritage, museums, the arts, and international cultural cooperation — areas that continue to expand as part of the country's wider development goals.
