LEAP 2026 Closes With Nearly $15bn in Tech Deals

The LEAP 2026 technology conference concluded at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham with nearly USD 15 billion (about SAR 56.25 billion) in technology launches, investments and agreements. The deals focused on artificial intelligence infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, tech manufacturing and venture capital.

Among the headline announcements were large-scale data center projects with capacities ranging from 55 MW to 250 MW alongside long-term plans reaching up to 360 MW in NEOM Oxagon and 500 MW in other AI data center projects. These facilities are designed to support AI training, inference and cloud services. As part of the national digital and AI infrastructure program, the Kingdom has allocated around 80 km² of land and more than 12 GW of power capacity specifically for AI data centers.

New cloud regions coming to the Kingdom

A Microsoft Azure cloud region, "Saudi Arabia East," is scheduled to be available in November 2026, allowing public and private sector customers to host data and cloud services inside the country. A planned Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure region is set to open in December 2026, with total planned investment exceeding USD 5.3 billion (about SAR 19.9 billion).

AWS and HUMAIN announced an AI Zone with up to 50 MW of AI capacity by 2028, using Trainium and NVIDIA-based infrastructure. HUMAIN also agreed with Together AI to develop up to 250 MW of AI data center capacity, starting with a 55 MW phase, and with DataVolt to build 100 MW in NEOM Oxagon within a project targeting 360 MW, where construction has reportedly begun.

Domestic players joined in too. Al Moammar Information Systems announced USD 1.2 billion (about SAR 4.5 billion) to expand its data centers to 192 MW, while NHC Innovation committed USD 800 million (about SAR 3.0 billion) to develop Khuzam Digital Valley, expandable up to 65 MW by 2033.

For residents and businesses, the investments point to faster local cloud services, stronger data hosting inside the Kingdom, and growing demand for tech skills as Saudi Arabia builds out its digital economy.
