Saudi Judge Picked for 2026 Asian Games Triathlon

Saudi researcher Dr. Shaza Mohammed Abo'Ouf has been selected as an international triathlon judge for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, becoming the only Saudi representative among 24 international judges chosen for the role.

Dr. Abo'Ouf was nominated for the position by the Saudi Triathlon Federation. The triathlon events are scheduled to take place on 20–21 September 2026 in Gamagori, Aichi, Japan.

Outside of officiating, Dr. Abo'Ouf works as a consultant in therapeutic and sports nutrition, with a specialization in quality-of-life and holistic wellness programs.

Why it matters

The appointment marks a notable step for Saudi participation in international sports officiating. Being the lone Saudi name on the panel highlights the growing presence of Saudi expertise in global multi-sport events and reflects the expanding role of Saudi women in specialized sporting fields.

For the local community, achievements like this underscore the Kingdom's rising profile in competitive and endurance sports, and offer encouragement to young Saudis pursuing careers in sports science, nutrition, and officiating.
