Aramco Jazan Refinery Restart Delayed to Aug 30

Saudi Aramco has delayed the restart of its Jazan refinery in southwest Saudi Arabia to 30 August 2026, pushing back a timeline that had previously targeted 15 August 2026 for the facility to resume operations.

The Jazan complex is a major refining site with a processing capacity of 400,000 barrels It was taken offline on 27 July 2026 after an initial strike on the site, with damage reported to the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) complex and the tank farm area.

The revised timeline follows two attacks since late July and a fire at the refinery. Authorities said the fire was brought under control and extinguished, and confirmed that no injuries were recorded.

Why it matters

The Jazan refinery is one of the Kingdom's key downstream facilities, supplying refined products and supporting energy and industrial activity in the southwest region. Any change to its operating schedule can influence local fuel supply chains and industrial planning.

As of the latest information, no public statement on the current restart status had been issued. Saudi Living will provide updates as further details are confirmed.
