Daily Inspections Boost Services for Hajj Pilgrims

Saudi authorities are carrying out more than 2,800 daily inspection visits across Makkah and the Holy Sites to strengthen compliance and improve service quality for pilgrims and Umrah performers. The campaign, led by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, focuses on food, commercial, water, and sanitation safety.

The operational system relies on over 380 food-safety and catering inspectors and 403 environmental sanitation personnel. Their work is supported by five laboratories capable of processing up to 1,300 samples allowing rapid checks on food and commercial establishments throughout the area.

In parallel, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is conducting field inspection tours covering pilgrim accommodation, hospitality centers, catering facilities, transportation services, and reception and grouping sites. The goal is to verify operational readiness and compliance ahead of the pilgrimage.

As part of enforcement, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has suspended 21 Umrah companies after inspections and performance reviews revealed violations and poor service. The move reflects an intensifying drive to raise standards across Makkah, Madinah, and the Holy Sites during Hajj 2026.

For the community, the message is clear: only legal Hajj visas and permits are valid for participation. Pilgrims are encouraged to use the official platform, Nusuk Hajj, for Hajj-related services and permits. The tighter inspection regime aims to ensure safer, higher-quality services for everyone performing the rituals this season.
