Schools in Jeddah have launched the third phase of the Swimming Literacy project in 2026, targeting 300 male and female students. The initiative is organized by the General Administration of Education in Jeddah in cooperation with the Saudi School Sports Federation.
The program teaches participants basic swimming skills alongside water-safety awareness, equipping young learners with practical abilities that can help protect them in and around water.
The latest launch builds on earlier phases of the project. In 2025, previous rounds trained more than 2,100 primary-school students across seven Saudi regions, reflecting a steady expansion of the initiative to reach more communities.
Why it matters
For families in Jeddah, the program offers students a structured opportunity to learn swimming fundamentals and safety practices within the school setting. Teaching these skills early can build confidence in the water and raise awareness of how to stay safe, particularly in a coastal city.
No participation fee, venue price, or public booking process was announced for the program, and no specific payment channel or application procedure applies to the current phase.
