Saudi Civil Defense issued early danger alerts for six cities — Jeddah, Taif, Yanbu, Abha, Jazan, and Khamis Mushait — through the National Early Warning Platform, advising residents to take immediate precautions until conditions returned to normal.
The warning urged people to remain calm and move immediately to the nearest safe place indoors, preferably an interior room away from windows, and to stay inside until the danger passed. Residents were also advised to avoid open areas, windows, balconies, rooftops, and crowds, and not to film during the alert. Drivers were told to pull over safely.
Emergency contacts
For emergencies, residents were reminded to call 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 998 in the rest of Saudi Arabia. These numbers connect callers directly to emergency response teams.
The alert was later reported as lifted, with authorities confirming that the danger had passed in the affected areas.
Early warning alerts like this matter to the community because they give residents and expats time to take simple, potentially life-saving steps before hazardous conditions arrive. Following the guidance — staying indoors, keeping away from windows, and avoiding open or crowded areas — remains the safest response whenever an official alert is issued.
