Diriyah Art Futures (DAF) has opened the second edition of its contemporary art exhibition, CONTINUUM '26, in the Al Bujairi area of Diriyah, Riyadh. The show runs from 3 September 2026 to 7 November 2026 and is open to the public throughout this period.
The exhibition brings together works by 16 emerging artists alongside 2 mentors, all developed through DAF's year-long Emerging New Media Artists Programme for 2025–2026. Visitors will encounter a wide range of media, including installation, light, sound, moving image, virtual reality, mixed reality, and works built on artificial intelligence.
CONTINUUM '26 is curated by Irini Papadimitriou, with Bushra Alghamdi as assistant curator. The exhibition explores themes of memory, identity, place, belonging, and interspecies relationships, structured around four strands: memory as a living process, systems of power and optimisation, the body, perception and presence, and repetition, rhythm and collective experience.
Diriyah Art Futures operates as a new media arts center under the Museums Commission of the Saudi Ministry of Culture, located on King Faisal Road in Riyadh. Its year-long programme combines research, practice, mentorship, production, scenography, and curation, ending with this public exhibition.
Why it matters
Alongside the exhibition, DAF is hosting a public programme of workshops, talks, and activities covering AI, virtual reality, digital photography, and other digital art practices, all open to visitors during the run of the show. For residents and families in Riyadh interested in technology and contemporary culture, CONTINUUM '26 offers a hands-on look at how a new generation of artists is working with emerging tools. Exact ticket prices and time slots were not specified at the time of writing.
