Hail Greening Wins World Green City Recognition

Hail's urban greening initiative, "Hail is the Most Beautiful," has received a certificate of appreciation from the International Association of Horticultural Producers as part of the World Green City Awards 2026, marking a fresh recognition of the region's growing environmental efforts.

The honorary recognition highlights work to expand green spaces, modernize public parks, improve public areas, and enhance the overall urban landscape in Hail. These efforts are aligned with the environmental sustainability goals set out under Saudi Vision 2030.

greening and sustainability work by Hail Region Municipality helped raise green space while community physical activity rates rose to around 60% — an indicator of how expanded parks and open areas encourage healthier daily habits for residents.

Part of a broader record

The award adds to a series of recognitions for the region. Hail Region Municipality was named Arab Green City for 2024–2025 by the Arab Towns Organization, tied to large-scale afforestation and eco-friendly urban practices. The municipality has also previously earned two Green Flag Awards for Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen Park and Bahjah Park, reflecting the quality and maintenance of its public green spaces.

The initiative operates under national frameworks including the National Greening Program and municipal environmental excellence programs. For residents and visitors, access to Hail's public parks — including Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen Park and Bahjah Park — remains free of charge as public municipal facilities, with typical opening hours extending through the daytime and evening.

For the local community, the recognition reinforces ongoing investment in greener, more livable neighbourhoods, offering more open spaces for families, walking, and outdoor activity across the city.
