An Ibero-American International Film Festival is set to take place in Riyadh from 20 September to 8 October 2026, bringing a wide selection of international cinema to audiences in the capital. The screenings will be held at the auditorium of the Embassy of India in Riyadh.
The programme features films from 13 countries: Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Spain, India, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Mexico, Uruguay, and Venezuela. This mix offers residents a rare chance to experience storytelling from Latin America, Iberia, and beyond in one place.
Saudi cinema also has a place in the line-up. Five Saudi films are included through the Saudi Cinema Association's "On Our Screen We Meet" programme, giving local filmmakers a platform alongside their international counterparts.
For the community, the festival reflects Riyadh's growing role as a hub for cultural exchange and film. It is a chance for both residents and expats to discover new voices in world cinema and to see Saudi productions shown side by side with works from three continents.
At this stage, screening-by-screening timings, seat availability, reservation steps, and the official booking channel have not been confirmed. Ticket pricing has also not been announced. Audiences planning to attend should check for further details closer to the event dates.
