IPL Mega Auction Held in Jeddah for 2025 Season

Jeddah hosted the Indian Premier League (IPL) player mega auction for the 2025 season, with the event taking place over two days on November 24 and 25, 2024, at Abady Al-Johar Arena in the city.

The two-day auction brought together team representatives as franchises built their squads ahead of the new IPL season. Holding one of cricket's most closely watched events in Saudi Arabia marked a notable moment for the sport's growing profile in the Kingdom.

For the local and expatriate community — including the large number of cricket fans among residents — the auction underlined Jeddah's increasing role as a host city for major international sporting occasions. Such events help position the city on the global sports calendar and draw visitors and attention from across the region.

Note for 2026

Readers should be aware that this auction relates to the 2025 season and was held in Jeddah in late 2024. The subsequent IPL auction for the following season was held in Abu Dhabi rather than Jeddah, so there is no current 2026 edition of the IPL auction taking place in the city.
